Your role in a nutshell
We are recruiting for an experienced Supply Chain Planner on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, working from our head office site at Watersmead (near Littlehampton) in West Sussex. The successful candidate will be part of our Global Supply Chain team and will be responsible for owning, controlling and managing the purchasing of The Body Shop products from your appointed suppliers and manufacturers while maintaining category inventory budgets in line with spend expectations.
More about the role
- Purchasing of all Finished Goods inventory from the supply base to meet our stores and markets' needs, within financial targets and stock budget expectations.
- To own and drive significant performance of your appointed manufacturers and new product developments (NPD) in the areas of 'On Time In Full' deliveries, lead-time reductions and optimum stock turns.
- Manage supplier relationships through regular contact to ensure optimum service is provided.
- Management of inbound flows into distribution centers from the supply base across the globe - managing distribution center capacity constraints, offsite storage needs (within budget) and to meet market sales.
- To actively maintain service levels to the Zone Supply Chain teams to drive retail sales through close management of your appointed manufacturers and NPD developments.
- Accountable for managing LOI (letter of intent) and Call Off LOIs with supplier base and internal business functions such as Legal and Operations Finance and provide reporting on required time lines.
- All preparations for supplier and Brand reviews.
What we look for
Coming from a background in Supply Chain or Operations, you will work well under pressure; have great analytical skills and have a love of problem solving, numbers and relationship building. Strong Excel, IT and influencing skills are a must and a working knowledge of the retail sector is desirable.
