The role in a (sustainably sourced) nutshell

To make an ecommerce site really deliver across a region (in this case its all of the UK and Northern Europe) its critical to get the onsite merchandising right, to optimise the conversion rates and to present the most compelling catalogue of products to the consumer in the right format at the right time. This 12 month Fixed Term Contract (covering maternity) as our Ecommerce Conversion Cooordinator for Northern Euope does just that .

This entails a few key activities:

Areas of accountability


Setting up and maintaining the catalogue – this is to ensure availability of the full range of products with alignment across ecommerce and Retail channels - you’ll need to work closely with Brand and Studio to keep this up to date and accurate so attention to detail essential.

You’ll also work with Supply chain to action new products and discontinue old products within the catalogue. Things don’t stand still here at The Body Shop.


New Product Development Process – here you’ll set deadlines and brief internal teams and it will be down to you to follow up diligently on assets and content and to spot errors before publication. You’ll be involved in the set-up of new and seasonal products (a chance to get to see, smell and feel the new ranges before anyone else) and to work with localisation teams to get product details right for our markets – so any language skills (German, Swedish or Danish) would be really useful.


Merchandising – with a keen eye for detail you’ll learn to enhance and enrich product displays online with new images and the addition and correction of video and to update product descriptions and ‘how to use’ descriptors as part of a continuous improvement process. Creative abilities will come to the fore.


Beyond these key areas of involvement you will be responsible for keeping a close eye on the ecommerce site ensuring all products are correctly priced and categorised as they should as well as supporing on teh resolution of stock related issues. You'll help the trading team with product related optimisations through teh maintenance of teh product carousels, regime buying and the promotion of perfect partners.
