Security Programme Manager

Heading up this function is a key role for an IT Security Programme Manager that has overall responsibility for all projects related to Information Security, compliance technology and continuous improvement.

In summary


As well as leading a team of project managers you will be responsible for managing third party partnerships and have you own business critical projects to manage and deliver.

In addition to the overall management of project delivery you will have ownership of some other key activities as expected in a role of this stature.

Accountability and monitoring of resources, revenue and capital costs for the programme or work will fall to you as will the tracking and programme status reporting.

You’ll be responsible for communicating to all key stakeholders and will be experienced at building rapport and effective relationships quickly

Flagging of risks and issues will naturally land with you along with mitigations and decision making.

And with a structure that includes third party project partners, you’ll be tasked with keeping those contractual relationships on track both from a delivery and commercial perspective.

Skills, know-how and experience

  • First and fore-most you will have delivered security technology and process programmes and have exceptional skills in infrastructure, or security project delivery.
  • You’ll have run multi-project programmes and managed others delivering projects as well as being a proven project manager yourself and be very adept at managing budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Your communication will be unambiguous, frequent and consistent and you’ll be a confident presenter of information in formal and informal situations
  • Service introduction and ITIL will be evidences in your experience along with NIST security framework of similar, and you will understand security architecture and solution design.
  • If you’ve done all of this for retail – even better.


To pull this all together we are looking for a project management certification to demonstrate process and rigour and a security professional qualification would be highly advantageous.
