Your role in a nutshell

To take a lead role in the development of core system functionality across our digital product(s).  To be the specialist and global super user for the products we support, taking ownership and management of system specific roadmaps for all markets and new market roll out plans. As part of a project team, the successful candidate will own the delivery of high quality, customer and data-led digital products, ensuring focus on the items that will deliver the most significant business value. The role is responsible for building the right product for the business and working closely with the extended product team to interpret and ensure alignment with strategy, roadmap and business goals. This will require the PO to work closely with a variety of stakeholders to deliver a variety of system projects across multiple workstreams.

With offices in both London and Littlehampton, candidates can opt to be based out of either location.

More about the role

•    Responsible for launching new digital products, enhance existing ones and ensuring business readiness.
•    Responsible for the on-time, on-budget and on-strategy delivery of our products and projects through careful prioritisation and review
•    Engagement with business stakeholders to cover the strategic aspects of product development, including product vision definition, roadmap creation and business case creation, keeping product return on investment (ROI) and business value delivery as the core focus
•    To work collaboratively with the wider systems management team and businesss development team to ensure the roadmap is fully aligned to business direction, strategic goals and requirements
•    Deliver against and support the vision, strategy and roadmap for your product(s).
•    Be a focal point of contact for the business for the defined product/portfolio of products.
•    Manage product user journey design, ensuring a high quality customer experience.
•    Overseeing of user acceptance testing and responsible for cursory production validation of products / changes following a release
•    Applying practices, procedures and standards to ensure activities and decisions are compliant with The Body Shop's risk appetite, legal and regulatory requirements
•    Work alongside technical teams, Customer Insights / Data Scientists, CX and BA design collegues, ensuring the business needs are reflected in project Epics, sprints and adhere to products roadmap
•    Brief stakeholders and senior management on the product roadmap, and associated deliverables, to ensure cross function alignment.
•    Work closely with key internal stakeholders, systems management team and external suppliers / third parties to ensure resource is aligned to the roadmap and tracking for success
•    Deeply understand customer needs and gather requirements from all internal and external stakeholders
•    Manage product feature prioritisation; ensuring stakeholders understand the compromises and constraints.
•    Manage product feature development to maximise value from each investment
•    Support execution of our digital and technology strategy across all global markets
•    Continuously monitor  and deeply understand customer needs, market trends, competitor activity and regulatory changes to ensure the product remains a category leader.
•    Maintain the end-to-end customer experience of the product
•    Deliver regular communications and updated reporting to update to the business on continuous improvement activities / progression with roadmaps
•    Support training of new components or changes to existing components delivered
•    Governance of all process of the digital products after launch and monitoring its adoption in the business.
•    Document processes and training materials to assist with successful launch and business adoption of the product(s) or new feature(s).
•    Provide digital product knowledge and insight for colleagues across our business



What we look for

•    Extensive experience in ‘Product Management’ or as ‘Product Owner’.
•    Proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership of digital products and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
•    Hands on experience with agile methodologies.
•    Solid experience in working as a business analyst and product owner with varied project delivery across eCommerce, CRM/loyalty and /or retail store projects and leveraging their resulting data through Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Analysis tools, Segmentation and Predictive Data Modelling.
•    Excellent project management skills. Ability to manage multiple cross-functional team projects across critical deadlines.
•    Blend of business, technical and management skills, with understanding of customer experience and marketing.
•    Experience in A/B testing and data analytics to inform product roadmap.
•    Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
•    Strong retail/consumer facing experience.
•    Solid technology understanding; ability to communicate effectively with the delivery team and communicate clearly back to business stakeholders.
•    Experience with working in a matrix or complex global environment.
•    Ability and desire to work in a position that requires both strategic and tactical focus.
•    Strong familiarity of emerging technologies, capabilities, and solutions.
•    Microsoft Azure platform experience desirable
•    Agile development experience
•    Able to deliver software development/integration projects that cover front-end, backend, online and offline
•    Able to own roadmap and help to shape this by working closely with various stakeholders to integrate with business strategy
•    Experience with change management and working in a matrix or complex global environment
