Your role in a nutshell

Assist with overall SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) program including annual update of Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM). The role will oversee control testing performed by the internal testers and external auditors, recommend and drive remediation of control activities where gaps are identified and produce status reports. Candidates can be located in London or Littlehampton.

Key Job Accountabilities:

Manage TBS SOX program for several business processes including:

  • Annual update to SOX Matrix, test matrix, assisting on the use of Auditboard tool
  • Coordinate annual market scoping and risk assessment
  • Coordinate with control owners on questions arising from internal control testing to drive consistency across the company
  • Liaise with ITGC Team surrounding internal controls testing submission in the Auditboard, ensuring IT dependencies, ITACs and Benchmarking of reports are timely executed
  • Support the coordination with external auditor regarding the annual planning and testing
  • Perform ad hoc reviews of controls to ensure that gaps are identified and addressed
  • Prepare and deliver Internal Controls refresher trainings on a quarterly and ad hoc basis
  • Supports Head of BP Internal Controls with other duties such as special projects

What we look for


  • Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience
  • Significant understanding / experience of core financial processes; Record to Report (RTR), Fixed Assets and Tax
  • Significant internal control experience & knowledge
  • Experience of SOX /COSO/PCAOB regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders with varying levels of control expertise
  • Certain knowledge of SAP and SAP Control principals (e.g. Segregation of Duties)
  • People Management experience

  • Proven internal audit or internal controls assurance experience in multi-national environments
  • Proactive and independent
  • Practical mindset to understand the strategic relevance and context of risks
  • Strong communication and high quality written reporting skills
  • Strong project management skills are required
