Your role in a nutshell

<span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">We are looking for a strong, natural and motivational character who is responsible for leading <span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">and managing UK Retail Communications, Support Office strategies and activism for the UK business, supporting the The Body Shop to be a truly purpose driven brand through our activist voice.


<span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The ideal candidate will be a strong authentic verbal & written communicator, a creative thinker and people driven individual who is proactive, adaptable and solutions focussed.  They will have good organisational skills and thrive in juggling multiple activities, prioritising key projects and stake holders whilst keeping a positive and calm approach. They have a proven track record of growing & developing high performing teams,are collaborative and able to build meaningful relationships with Global & UK support office teams including commercial, marketing, activation, brand and customer experience to drive both customer & business growth objectives.


<span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Monitor competitor communication and engagement as well as activism initiatives, staying up to date with trends and customer insights is a great part of the role.  The ideal candidate will have experience in designing inspiring retail communications, thrive on bringing new ideas to the table and are keen to shape and influence new initiatives, enhancements and strategy in your area of events, communication & activism expertise.


<span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">The role will be largely office based with some travel in the UK to support meeting and conference events success.  The successful candidate will lead the key business message cascades & gate keeing the UK Retail events and incentive budgets within your controllable areas.

More about the role
  • Lead, guide and amplify our activist voice in all retail communications and events with our UK Support Office and retail leadership teams.
  • Work closely with the UK Activation manager on our Activist campaign communication, ensure the Activism tool kit is updated regularly and retail communication is a channel to inspire activism to drive collective change.
  • Develop and manage the annual communication plan through the retail activity planner, design and write content, liaise with business partners to plan cascades to the field, including creation of incentive programs to inspire our internal customer.
  • Utilise technical skills in Adobe Acrobat/Powerpoint to design presentations that optimise conference, meetings as well as daily, weekly & monthly communication to ensure Retail Stores, franchises and retail leadership have relevant retail ready communication to drive customer, brand and commercial actions.
  • Design and lead innovative retail communications to ensure they are clear, concise and prioritised, act as gater keeper to ensure relevant support function info is cascaded whilst managaing the volume and timelines to the Leadership teams and then to Retail Stores are achieved.
  • Play a pivotal role in the planning, organizing and communication of the Christmas trading period, including creation of all communications over peak trade.
  • Plan and organize the successful implementation of retail field meetings, conferences & events that animate relevant topics & opportunities to drive engagement in our brand priorities :Customer First, Purposeful Entrepreneur & Joyful Collective sharing best practice initiatives & progress towards our business objectives.
  • Drive engagement and lead motivation, development and growth within Retail Support Office Team of direct reports by coaching & developing a talented high performing team.
  • Work collaboratively with Global Communications, Senior Leadership and Management Teams on cross-functional and omni-channel initiatives and launches to support and influence retail growth opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor communication and engagement as well as activism initiatives, staying up to date with trends and customer insights to influence new new initiatives, enhancements and strategy in your area of events, communication & activism expertise.
  • Lead relationships with external Agencies, identify new partnership opportunities where applicable.
  • Plan CPA'S,agenda's and logistics for all QBR meetings, UK Christmas Planning meeting and other UK support Office meetings & projects as directed by MD on an ad hoc basis.
  • Share best practice withother markets on areas of opportunity to amplify our internal & external brand voice
What we look for
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Experience of collating and analysing volumes of information across various forms of data
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Proven budgetary control experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Experience of event management (i.e. conferences)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Extensive experience in a retail environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, dealing with multiple requirements concurrently
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Ability to lead, coach, motivate and develop a team ensuring performance is constantly reviewed and development is driven to maximise full potential
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Qualifications: Communications, PR, Media or relevant qualifications at degree or equivalent level desired
