More about the role

As the Inclusive Hiring Manager you will partner with the UK market People team and our truly inspirational Global Head of Inclusion and Belonging (Nykeba King: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nykeba-king-6a37ab69/) to build, advance and deploy our Inclusive Hiring development programme in the UK. We are already up and running in the US so learnings from there will help inform strategies and initiatives we deploy in the UK market.

Strategy: In close collaboration with Nykeba you will create a market strategy for inclusive hiring through 2023 – it may seem a long way off, but when you are changing mindsets, processes and perceptions there is a lot to get right.

Partnering: At all times you will work closely with the global sustainability team to ensure the programme meets the requirements for the BCorp WFD Inclusive Hiring workstream and you will manage the provision of updates needed for BCorp benchmarking. Our BCorp status is something that sets us apart and underpins everything we do.

You’ll work with retail stores and our retail academy to create store training programmes ensuring everyone is on the same inclusive page, and you’ll partner with Brand/PR and Activism in North America to amplify and create stories, store collateral and content for external media that will promote and socialise the Inclusive hiring message. The more viral we can go – the better.

Partnerships extend beyond internal functions to NGO’s, charities and apprenticeship providers who support the communities we are targeting with recruitment, training and retention interventions.

Design and Innovation: You will be called upon to design a robust pathmaking programme that incorporates a training, development and retention support structure from initial onboarding through each stage of the employee lifecycle. It will be designed to enhance and support the social mobility challenges of the open hire.

Delivery: The proof is in the measurement, so a key task will be the development of tracking capabilities for all inclusive hires, capturing training programmes completed, internal progression or even the reporting on subsequent external employment that increases social mobility.

In addition to a genuine and demonstrable interest and knowledge of inclusive hiring, this role is about coordination and delivery. It’s taking a proven approach and adapting it for a new market and landing it effectively and efficiently.

It won’t be without its hurdles or challenges so we will need a tenacious and optimistic individual who sees the bigger picture and can focus on the end-game – regardless of setbacks and blockers. You’ll be accountable for the delivery and will be able to multi-task and manage different stakeholder communities through effective communication.

You’ll be persuasive and inspiring and will be able to evidence having taken new concepts and ideas and made them reality elsewhere in your career.
