Your role in a nutshell

 

Are you passionate about building and managing supplier relationships while ensuring that value for money is obtained from suppliers? 
Based within the IT function, as part of a technology business management team, the Technology Supplier Manager role will join us at the start of building out our global IT supplier management capability.  
Managing our partners in life contracts as part of the governance framework that you will be integral to defining and implementing whilst ensuring our suppliers deliver to their contractual commitments, driving value, while ensuring contracts with suppliers support the needs of the business in collaboration with the sourcing and procurement team.
This role would suit someone who thrives on establishing and running the governance process with key strategic suppliers and partners.

Strategic review and implementation

  • Be a stakeholder in the sourcing strategy, bench marking and contract life-cycle. Support sourcing to identify and qualify potential new suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective products and services. 
  • Identify ways to optimise and rationalise suppliers and supplier spend as well as service improvement opportunities.
  • Define supplier strategy that supports business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Contractual Governance
  • Defining and implementing the Supplier Relationship Management Framework; running governance boards across suppliers.
  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise on contract content and the Supplier Management Framework
  • Maintain supplier contracts and ensure adherence to contractual agreements, obligations and service level agreements.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of cost drivers, costs and trends within the context of the contract

    
Supplier Management

  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Maintaining and improving supplier performance: understand how suppliers are performing, working to address supplier performance issues and run supplier continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaboratively manage and monitor supplier and service provider performance to ensure quality of service. 
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to create additional value over and above the contract requirements.

What we look for

 

  • Professional experience in Supplier Management and/or Supplier Relationship Management     
  • Proven experience of building relationships with suppliers of IT products and services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, able to influence a range of stakeholders and build influential and trusted relationships across organisational and supplier boundaries.
  • Experience in managing conflict and the ability to communicate with clarity to stakeholders and with suppliers.  
  • Solid experience defining and implementing supplier management frameworks and techniques
  • Knowledge of the contract lifecycle and experience in managing contracts in one or more IT categories, including hardware, software, service and communications.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and able to seek advice and support when required. Taking responsibility for making decisions where appropriate.
  • Comfortable making decisions based on incomplete data and information in the absence of clear frameworks and guidance to operate from.
