ABOUT US: OUR COMPANY

The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick in Brighton, England.
It all started as a small shop providing quality skincare products in refilled bottles and with the belief that business could be a force for good and the world - our source of beauty.
Since then The Body Shop has become a global retail business serving over 30 million customers worldwide, employs 10,000 people with a further 12,000 in our franchise team, and operates in around 3,000 stores in more than 70 countries.
We have exported innovative products, campaigns that matter and an ethical approach to business all over the globe.
We couldn’t have done any of this without our inspirational people and their commercial instincts.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

We create naturally-inspired beauty products from sustainably sourced ingredients from all around the world.
We always stand up and campaign for what's right.
‘Our mission is to be a business that is a force for good’.

WHAT THIS ALL MEANS FOR YOU

Our employees are fully engaged with who we are and what we stand for.
They are volunteering in their local communities individually or as teams, and often campaigning with us.

Want to join us and be part of something good?

  • ENRICH OUR PEOPLE

We commit to continue our Community Trade programme (something we pioneered 30 years ago), we campaign for what's right, we give economically vulnerable people access to work and we nourish our employees' personal development.

  • ENRICH OUR PLANET

Our Bio-Bridges create corridors of biodiversity, they connect and protect areas of damaged forest to save animals and plants from extinction and give communities a sustainable future.

  • ENRICH OUR PRODUCTS

We commit to ensure that 100% of our products are fully traceable and sustainably sourced, reduce the environmental footprint of all our product categories every year and develop an innovative pipeline that delivers pioneering cosmetic ingredients from biodiversity hotspots.
