Your role in a nutshell

As the Senior People Partner you will be responsible for defining and leading the HR Operating Plan for the Canadian Home Office and working to ensure consistency with the Global HR strategy. You will have a strong focus on best practices in identifying, developing and retaining talent, while ensuring a proactive and considered approach for our people and organization.

You will work collaboratively across the organization to drive growth, performance improvement, and operational excellence. You are passionate about building successful human resources programs that drive business objectives and enables a high-performing workforce and a culture of innovation, while fighting for a fairer more beautiful world!

More about the role

  • Attract, select and identify key talent for Home Office
  • Direct career management and learning through training and development needs analysis
  • Create succession plans to build bench strength and ensure retention of skills
  • Ensure social and legal compliance in market at both individual and collective levels
  • Work collaboratively across all People functions for North America to ensure a consistent approach for all ‘people’ processes
  • Anticipate and accompany the needs of the President and facilitate organizational changes, consulting with the senior management team; act as an active participant in business decisions
  • Ensure the promotion of diversity and monitoring of quality of life in the workplace (store and non-store)
  • Creates Culture and Engagement Plan for Home Office/GM and Leadership Team
  • Leads recruitment efforts for open positions and temp employees including using the HRIS, coordinating and conducting interviews and job offers
  • Manages all new hire and termination processes in compliance with all local laws. (onboarding/offboarding.)
  • Plans and participates in talent management discussions and succession planning
  • Oversees coaching and employee relations process
  • Supports annual salary/bonus planning process
  • Administers and communicates various human resources programs in alignment with overall business goals and objectives while working with HR leadership to ensure consistency
  • Performs exit interviews and provide feedback to Supervisor/quickly adjusts culture plan if needed
  • Manages and owns volunteering activities

What we look for

  • 8-10 years of related HR generalist support experience a must.
  • Well-rounded HR strategic business partner with strong business acumen and at least 8 years of experience in a Senior HRBP capacity.
  • Hands-on working style, balancing strategic planning and execution
  • Collaborative mind-set, with an ability to partner with Global HR for mutual support and synergies
  • Analytical and strategic mindset, and the ability to execute projects in a timely manner

  • Conversant knowledge in local labour ordinance and legislation
  • Naturally connects and builds strong relationships with others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
